Joey Gets Out Alive

I met my extended family brothers Joey and Bobby over the CB a few years after I moved to Pittsburgh. Bobby and Joe wound up in Fla. although Bob is back in the Burgh for awhile because of his Job. Over the years we've managed to keep in touch via the Internet or Cell Phones. Thank goodness our cellphone carriers don't charge extra for long distance. I usually get a call when Bob is driving home from work but last night his call was unusually late. When I answered the phone Bob was upset, told me Joey was in a bad car wreck but was OK as he just talked to Adam who was driving the car. However, they did take Joey to the hospital to get checked out. A few minutes later Joey was on the phone with us as he was leaving the hospital, being sent home with some scratches and whiplash. Joey wasn't in the mood to talk long but told us they had to cut him out of the wreck. Get well quick Bro and congrats on getting your FLA drivers license. Aren't you glad you weren't driving?

I can write a better car accident report than the local Orlando TV station in my sleep. Must have been the late night copy person but here it is anyway.

A bad crash on the Beachline near Orlando International Airport blocked all eastbound lanes, Thursday night, while troopers mopped up the mess. FHP said three cars were involved and at least one person had to be cut out. There wasn't much left of the Oldsmobile, a young man was driving, soon after he rear-ended a dump truck. It was easy to understand why he was so shaken up.State troopers were investigating the crash after someone driving a black car with tinted windows, possibly a commercial luxury cab, cut the dump truck off on the Beachline near Orlando International Airport. Investigators said the driver of the dump truck slammed on his brakes to avoid hitting the vehicle, but the black car took off, leaving behind the mess.Firefighters extricated a passenger and paramedics rushed him to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the black car is wanted for fleeing the scene of an accident without rendering aid, which is a felony.
