Marine removed from duty amid allegations of proselytizing in Iraq

Ain't know one gonna tell the Marines hwat yo do

So I guess it doesn't matter if it's against Military Regulations it's ok if it's a Marine. NOT!

.....

The U.S. military removed a Marine from duty today after Iraqi civilians complained that religious material was being distributed at a checkpoint in Fallujah.

“Regulations prohibit members of the coalition force from proselytizing any religion, faith or practices, and our troops are trained on those guidelines before they deploy,” Col. Bill Buckner, a military spokesman, says in a statement e-mailed to USA TODAY.

Commanders say they will take further action if the allegations against this unidentified Marine are substantiated.

"This has our full attention,” Col. James L. Welsh, chief of staff at Multi-National Force-West says in a statement. “We deeply value our relationship with the local citizens and share their concerns over this serious incident.”

McClatchy News reported yesterday that Marines were handing out coins with the following text, which has been translated from Arabic:

Front: "Where will you spend eternity?"
Back: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16."

I understand they do not wish to upset the locals. But if the shoe was on the other foot what do you think would happen? A damn sight worse that's for sure!
There are worse things happening, than a coin being handed out with a religous inscription on it.Like small children being brainwashed and taught to believe to die as a terrorist is the way to please Allah! The Marines are doing a great Job!!!!

Dear Wolf,
What was wrong with my comment?
It was sincere.
Yes, there are rules and regulations that have to be adhered to. But what if peace activists took that line? They or he, the Marine was handing out coins not bombs!

it's simple, when in Roman do as the Romans do! The Military is prohibited by their own laws not to do such things as push any religion on people they are occupying. To do otherwise id breaking Military Law. Do you get it Now!!!!

Oh a lawbreaker hey! Well we can't have that can we. Must not go against the rules. Maybe someone should tell these fanatics. Who just happen to be of the muslim faith . Funny that! Maybe they will listen!
Oh !I get it all right. Well if the terrorists took over the USA. Do you think they will not push Islam down your throats . That is if they do not cut them first!
