Bruce Springsteen: THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND

I like to tell the story about Bruce when he came to Pittsburgh back when our steel mills were closing. Seems that a few weeks before he came here olde president Ray Gun was asked by the press what kind of music he liked. Ray Gun mentioned he liked Bruce but couldn't think of one song, so he told them he'd get back to them . A few days later olde Ronnie said he liked Born in the USA not realizing it was a protest song. So Bruce comes to the Civic Arena and makes his first political statement ever; "Here is a song I bet old Ray Gun never heard and I'd like to dedicate it to Local 1397" and then played The River. Before Bruce left town he gave the locals food bank a check for 50g and when he came back and played the stadium he gave us another 50g and 50g to the Rainbow Kitchen. Those were trying times for a lot of unemployed folks. Thanks again Bruce.
